The Kyzylorda Region Culture Days, dedicated to the 180th anniversary of Abai, were held in Semey. The delegation, led by the regional akim, Nurlybek Nalibayev, included members of the Senate and Majilis of the Parliament, N. Baikadamov, R. Rustemov, and M. Ergeshbayev; the chairman of the regional council of veterans, S. Duisenbayev; veterans of the region; members of the intelligentsia; the Turmagambet folk orchestra, a symphony orchestra, the vocal and instrumental ensemble «Syr Samaly», the dance ensemble «Tomiris», a choir, and other artists. At the Abai Theater, the audience received a musical greeting from our region, and the head of the region expressed his best wishes to the concert guests.
«We are delighted to meet you in the sacred land of Semey—the center of our country's national spirituality, culture, literature, and art! Our President Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich gave a fitting assessment, saying: «Semey is the blessed land of the great steppe. A sacred region where the heroes of Alash left their mark, where our intelligentsia fought for the future of the country. Semey is the historical center of national science and education, art, and culture».
In this sacred land named after Abai, the 180th anniversary of this great figure was celebrated at the highest level. The head of state remarked: «The great Abai is not only the pride of our country but also a world-class genius. His poems and words of wisdom are a mirror of our national identity. On behalf of the residents of the Kyzylorda region and myself, I heartily congratulate you all on the national holiday of the great Kazakh poet, educator, and spiritual reformer Abai Kunanbayev!»
The cities of Semey and Kyzylorda have gone down in history as political centers where crucial issues for our nation were discussed and important decisions were made.
We are pleased that today, dynamic projects are being actively implemented in the Abai region, newly established as an independent region with the support of our President. The development of culture and spirituality is a solid foundation for strengthening national unity, national identity, and social harmony.
Today's event will facilitate the exchange of experiences between cultural and artistic professionals from the two regions and the strengthening of business ties. At the celebratory meeting, Abay Region Akim Berik Uali delivered a speech and expressed gratitude to the regional Akim Nurlybek Nalibayev for his support of the Arts Days, as well as to all participating cultural figures.
The concert featured Korkyt kyuis, folk songs, terme, the choreographic production «Uly Dala Poemasy», the poem «Mahambet», and other works.
As a reminder, Kyzylorda Region Culture and Arts Days were previously successfully organized in the capital, Astana, and then in Almaty.
The region's artists have represented the Nauryz holiday and the country's national traditions internationally, holding important events in Spain, Finland, and Estonia. This coming October, in honor of the national holiday, Republic Day, Kyzylorda Culture and Arts Days are planned to be held in several cities in Switzerland.
