Kazakhstan Expands Geography of Cooperation in India

Hyderabad, September 18–19, 2025 – Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to India, Mr. Azamat Yeskarayev, paid a working visit to Hyderabad, where he met with the Hon’ble Governor of Telangana, Mr. Jishnu Dev Varma.
During the meeting, the sides discussed prospects for strengthening bilateral cooperation in the fields of economy, investment, healthcare, and education. Special attention was given to the development of transport connectivity, including the opening of direct flights from Kazakhstan to Hyderabad and Ahmedabad.
The visit, organized by the Honorary Consul of Kazakhstan in Hyderabad, Dr. Nawab Mir Nasir Ali Khan, included meetings with leading companies and organizations of the region:
Power Mech Projects Ltd. – India’s largest company in the field of energy and industrial construction. Discussions focused on the company’s potential participation in infrastructure projects in Kazakhstan.
NephroPlus – India’s leading dialysis clinic network. Preliminary agreements were reached on introducing advanced medical technologies and launching joint projects in Kazakhstan.
GMR Group – one of India’s largest conglomerates specializing in airports and infrastructure. The sides discussed the expansion of flight connections from Kazakhstan to Hyderabad and Ahmedabad, as well as cooperation in transport infrastructure.
Apollo Medskills – an educational arm of Apollo Hospitals Group. Discussions covered joint training programs for medical specialists, the establishment of a specialized Medical Hub in Kazakhstan, telemedicine projects, and the creation of an advanced dialysis center.
KIMS Hospitals – a network of multi-specialty hospitals in southern India. Potential cooperation on experience exchange and introduction of advanced medical practices in Kazakhstan was considered.
SAP Medical – a company in the field of medical technologies and equipment. Joint initiatives for equipment production and cooperation in healthcare were discussed.
As a result of the visit, preliminary agreements were reached on the implementation of investment projects in Kazakhstan’s economy, covering energy, medicine, infrastructure and education. Several companies expressed readiness for direct investments, including Power Mech Projects Ltd. (USD 50–500 million) and NephroPlus (USD 10–15 million). The Kazakh side emphasized that investment attraction efforts are being carried out in line with the approaches outlined by the Head of State in his September State of the Nation Address.
In addition, on September 17, 2025, Ambassador Yeskarayev met with Mr. Mahendra Joshi, founder of Big B Corporation. The sides discussed the prospects of implementing large-scale investment projects in Kazakhstan.
Mr. Joshi informed that a new entity, Kazind Medical Group LLP, has been established to implement these initiatives in Kazakhstan. The company intends to realize major projects in Almaty region, including the construction of a hotel, a university (for 10,000 students), and a campus, as well as a 1,000-bed hospital.
Kazind Medical Group has already signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Akimat of Almaty Region on August 15, 2023, and another MoU with NC KazakhInvest JSC on September 2, 2025. The company plans to implement these projects in the shortest possible timeframe. A similar project is also being considered in Akmola region.
Furthermore, Kazind Medical Group expressed its intention to establish a Medical Hub in Kazakhstan and showed interest in the mining sector. According to Mr. Joshi, the total investment volume is estimated at around USD 1.6 billion.
Ambassador Yeskarayev assured that the Embassy will provide all necessary support for the implementation of these projects, including advisory and visa assistance.
