The Kyzylorda Region Cultural Days «Sulu Syrdan - shyrayly Shygyska», dedicated to the 180th anniversary of Abai, continued in Ust-Kamenogorsk, the regional centre of East Kazakhstan. The delegation was led by the regional akim Nurlybek Nalibayev. The delegation included Senate and Majilis deputies N. Baikadamov, R. Rustemov, and M. Ergeshbaev; Chairman of the Regional Council of Veterans S. Duisenbaev; regional veterans; members of the intelligentsia; the Turmagambet Folk Instruments Orchestra; the «Syr Samaly» vocal and instrumental ensemble; the «Tomiris» dance ensemble; a choir; and other artists.
The exhibition «Syr oniri – turki orkenietinin altyn besigi» opened at the East Kazakhstan Regional Philharmonic. Akim of Kyzylorda Region Nurlybek Nalibayev, Akim of East Kazakhstan Region Nurymbet Saktaganov, and residents of Ust-Kamenogorsk viewed valuable artifacts from the Kyzylorda Regional Museum of History and Local Lore.
In recent years, the museum collection has been expanded with archaeological reconstructions of «Shіrіk Rabat saq zhauyngerі», «Syganaq hanshayymy», «Tүgіsken kosemі», and «Zhetіasar aqsүyek ayelі», based on artifacts found at ancient settlement sites. Visitors to today's exhibition paid particular attention to these artifacts.
A collection of gold items found during archaeological expeditions was also on display. Gold inlays from the Shirik-Rabat and Babiş-Mola settlements, considered the cradle of ancient civilization, bear witness to that era. Also on display was an original collection of gold earrings, amulets, buttons, and pearl beads found in the city of Syganak, where trade and culture flourished in the Middle Ages. Residents of Eastern Kazakhstan eagerly examined terracotta, glazed coatings, and clay pottery found in Zhankent, Asanas, Kyshkala, and Syganak, as well as a replica of the «kossaz» dombra found in the Bidayykasar settlement.
Jewelry and household items occupied a special place in the exhibition. Belt ornaments, earrings, necklaces, wooden furniture, tableware, and leather goods testify to the rich heritage of handicrafts preserved along the SyrDarya River. A collection of weapons—a sword, axe, saber, mace, spear, shield, and arrow—tells stories of the past.
Also on display were the Dresden edition of the book «Dede Korkyt», a nar-kobyz, a UNESCO certificate, souvenirs, the blue cane of Maral Ishan, the original saddle of Kerey, and copies of seals used by Kalkay Ishan, Serdali Bekshorin, Er Seitpenbet, and Bukarbay Batyr.
Furthermore, the exhibition's value was enhanced by a collection of Abai's poems published in 1922, as well as photographs and archival documents dating back to the period when Kyzylorda was the capital. Let us remind you that the exhibition «Syr oniri – turki orkenietinin altyn besigi» was presented to the public of the Abay region.
