Kazakhstan and Romania expand cooperation in the oil and gas sector

Bucharest, September 8-9, 2025 – As part of the visit of the leadership and members of the PetroCouncil and KazService associations to Romania, a series of meetings were held aimed at developing bilateral cooperation between Kazakhstan and Romania in key sectors: energy, information technology, and logistics.

The delegation members held meetings with the management of Rompetrol and the Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and also visited strategically important industrial facilities – the Vega Refinery (Ploiesti) and Petromidia Refinery (Constanta).

During the meetings, they discussed opportunities for promoting Kazakh oilfield service and engineering companies in Romanian projects, prospects for joint digital projects, exchange of experience, and creation of technological solutions focused on the needs of the energy and industrial sectors.

The parties also considered the possibility of attracting qualified specialists from Kazakhstan and Romania to implement joint projects in the oil and gas industry, which will increase the level of expertise and technological capabilities of both sides.

The visit confirmed the mutual interest in strengthening the strategic partnership, opening new markets, and jointly implementing projects that contribute to economic growth and technological development in both Kazakhstan and Romania.
