The "Give a Book" campaign was held in the DUIS women's colony in the Abai region.

          On April 23, Kazakhstan celebrates National Book Day for the first time. In this regard, a charity event "Give a book" was held in the women's correctional colony No. 23 DUIS in the Abai region, organized jointly with the library fund of the Zharminsky district.

            The purpose of the event is to replenish the institution's library and provide convicts with the opportunity to join in reading, self—development and spiritual enrichment. As part of the campaign, about 150 books were transferred to the colony: works of fiction, popular science and educational publications. Both classic and modern novels, psychology, and reference literature are included. Special attention is paid to books that promote personal growth and social adaptation.

            —Reading helps convicted women not only to escape from everyday difficulties, but also to rethink their lives and find new directions," said Anar Sabiyeva, Deputy Head of Educational Work.                                         The organizers expressed their gratitude to all the participants, emphasizing that support and kindness can change lives even behind barbed wire.
