A club for convicted mothers was opened in the Abai region.
More than 300 women convicted of medium, serious and especially serious crimes are serving their sentences in the women's colony of the Abai region. These are women between the ages of 18 and 65, many of whom are single mothers and mothers with many children. To keep in touch with their children and take care of them, the women created the Babye Delo club. The club members knit, sew and make toys for their children.
A total of 50 women are involved, mostly convicts, whose children are currently in orphanages or in the care of guardians. Kids receive gifts through relatives, parcels and parcels.
— The goal of the club is to create a safe space for convicted women, where they can receive psychological support, learn self—reflection, develop emotional intelligence and constructive communication. This helps to create a supportive environment aimed at personal development, restoring internal resources and preparing for life in freedom," said Altyngul Agatanova, an inspector psychologist at the institution.
