New York, 23 September 2025 - President of the Republic of Kazakhstan H.E. Mr. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a series of bilateral meetings on the margins of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The Head of State met with Prime Minister of Luxembourg H.E. Mr. Luc Frieden. The talks covered a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation. President Tokayev emphasized that Kazakhstan and Luxembourg have long maintained friendly and constructive relations. Particular attention was paid to enhancing trade and investment interaction, as well as to the prospects for implementing joint initiatives in the fields of digitalization and financial technologies. The two leaders agreed to intensify contacts between the business communities of both countries for these purposes.
President Tokayev then held a meeting with H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco in New York. The two sides noted the dynamic development of relations between Kazakhstan and Monaco and highlighted the significant potential for expanding trade, economic, investment, and cultural-humanitarian cooperation. The Head of State invited Prince Albert II to pay an official visit to Kazakhstan. The parties also exchanged views on pressing issues of the international agenda.
Continuing the series of meetings, President Tokayev held talks with President of Finland H.E. Mr. Alexander Stubb. The two leaders discussed bilateral cooperation as well as international issues. President Tokayev stressed that a fruitful political dialogue at the highest level plays an important role in strengthening relations between the two countries. In this regard, he expressed confidence that the upcoming visit of the Finnish leader to Kazakhstan would give an additional impetus to the development of trade, economic, investment, and humanitarian cooperation. The discussions also focused on the current geopolitical situation in the world.
The Head of State also met with Prime Minister of Belgium H.E. Mr. Bart De Wever. President Tokayev emphasized that Kazakhstan attaches great importance to developing long-term cooperation with Belgium, one of its key partners in the European Union. He noted that Belgium ranks among Kazakhstan’s top ten investors, with bilateral trade reaching nearly half a billion US dollars last year. The talks underlined the considerable potential for further strengthening economic relations, particularly in the areas of critical minerals, petrochemicals, agriculture, industry, transport and logistics, artificial intelligence, finance, tourism, and education. Prime Minister Bart De Wever expressed gratitude for the meaningful exchange of views and conveyed the warm regards of King Philippe to the President of Kazakhstan.
