Today, the regional Akim, Nurlybek Nalibayev, met with World Champion in Greco-Roman wrestling, Aidos Sultangali, and his personal coach, Gabiden Raimbek.
Representatives of the region's intelligentsia, senior law enforcement officials, sports veterans, coaches, and local athletes attended the meeting, dedicated to congratulating the World Champion on his remarkable victory.
The regional akim noted that this victory has enhanced the prestige not only of the Kyzylorda Region but of all of Kazakhstan.
«Today is a special and joyful day for our region. We have gathered to congratulate our fellow countryman, our pride, Aidos Sultangali, who has conquered the heights of sport and brought fame to our independent Kazakhstan throughout the world, on being awarded the title of World Champion in Greco-Roman wrestling.
Our President Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich emphasized: «The achievements of our athletes are an important factor raising the country's spirit and strengthening national unity.»
Aidos Sultangali recently achieved an unprecedented achievement in the history of Kazakh sports, winning the World Greco-Roman Wrestling Championships for adults for the first time in 26 years, held in Zagreb, Croatia. This historic victory brought honor to all of Kazakhstan and the people of our region.
The last time Mkhitar Manukyan (63 kg) brought gold to our country at the World Greco-Roman Wrestling Championships was in 1999, at a major tournament in Athens, Greece. A quarter of a century later, our fellow countryman Aidos Sultangali became the best on the world stage.
Our champion was personally congratulated by the Head of State, who praised his achievement, noting: «Aidos is the first winner in Greco-Roman wrestling this century.»
This victory is an example for our young wrestlers, a significant achievement that will boost the development of sports in our country.
Aidos's coach, Gabiden Raimbek, made a huge contribution to his victory. He nurtured not only an athlete but also a truly courageous citizen. We believe that every victory for a student is the result of the hard work of his coach. All the honors we bestow upon our two heroes are well-deserved.
Aidos has previously received support from the state and the region. Last year, with the support of philanthropist and national patriot Bakdaulet Yerkinbekuly, he was presented with a car. In addition, he receives a monthly state stipend of 1 million tenge. This support will continue.
We must always support and protect our heroes so that they remain in excellent shape. We will create the necessary conditions for their victory at the upcoming Olympic Games. On this significant day, on behalf of the entire people of the region, a decision was made to present Aidos with the keys to a new car and apartment, and his coach, Gabiden, with a new apartment.
Allow us to present gifts to our heroes», - said N. Nalibayev.
Serik Duisenbayev, Chairman of the Regional Council of Veterans, and Zhumagali Kiikbayev, Honored Coach of the Republic of Kazakhstan, addressed the meeting, offering their congratulations.
Gabiden Raiymbek, Honored Coach of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Greco-Roman wrestling and recipient of the «Dene shynyqtyru zhane sportty damytuga sіnirgen enbegi ushin» badge, and Aidos Sultangali, Master of Sports in Greco-Roman wrestling, member of the national team of the Republic of Kazakhstan, multiple winner of national and international competitions, and world champion, also spoke at the meeting. They expressed gratitude for the attention shown to them.
As a reminder, the region has implemented large-scale projects and carried out systematic work to develop sports. Over the past three years, 20 sports complexes have been commissioned in our region, and this year, six more facilities will be handed over to the public.
