Kazakhstan’s Foreign Minister Holds a Series of Bilateral Meetings in New York

New York, September 25, 2025 – Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu held a series of bilateral meetings with foreign counterparts on the sidelines of the 80th anniversary session of the UN General Assembly.

During talks with the U.S. Presidential Special Envoy for Special Missions Richard Grenell, the parties discussed key aspects of Kazakh-American cooperation, including prospects in trade and investment. Special attention was paid to the development of cultural and humanitarian ties, as well as an exchange of views on pressing global and regional issues.

During the meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Sergey Lavrov, the parties reviewed current issues of Kazakh-Russian cooperation, including preparations for upcoming visits, notably the planned visit of the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, to the Russian Federation. The ministers also exchanged views on regional and international agendas, as well as cooperation within international organizations.

In a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, Radoslaw Sikorski, the sides reviewed the current state and prospects of political and trade-economic cooperation, emphasizing the importance of implementing previously reached agreements.

In talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening the strategic partnership and expanding mutually beneficial cooperation across key sectors.

During the meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary, Peter Szijjarto, the parties expressed their mutual interest in further strengthening strategic partnership based on shared historical roots and traditional friendship. They discussed priority areas of cooperation, including political, economic, energy, and cultural-humanitarian interaction.

A wide range of bilateral issues was addressed in the meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov. The discussion covered political interaction, trade and economic cooperation, investment partnership, and humanitarian ties. The ministers gave high praise to the steady positive dynamics of Kazakh-Uzbek relations and reaffirmed their mutual commitment to strengthening the strategic partnership between the two brotherly nations.

As a result of the meetings, the parties agreed to continue a constructive dialogue on all issues of mutual interest.
