The event was organized by the Department for the Blind and Visually Impaired of the Zhetysu Regional Central Library named after Saken Seifullin, with the aim of developing and supporting the reading culture of blind readers, as well as adapting them to the study and perception of the surrounding world.

The contest consisted of three stages:

Listening to excerpts from the works of Beimbet Mailin “Shuganyn Belgisi”, Mukhtar Auezov “The Day of the Defenseless”, Dulat Isabekov “Dermen”, Alexander Kuprin “The Garnet Bracelet”, Leo Tolstoy “The Blizzard”, and Fyodor Dostoevsky “The Dream of a Ridiculous Man” — identifying the title and author, and answering five questions related to the work.

Identifying tactile illustrations by touch and reciting poetic lines related to the depicted image.

Completing five different proverbs.

Seven blind readers of the department took part in the contest and demonstrated their skills and abilities at a high level.

As a result, the First Degree Diploma was awarded to Anastasia Grigorieva, the Second Degree Diploma to Karlygash Bekenova, and the Third Degree Diploma to Marina Golovushkina.

All participants of the contest received letters of appreciation.
