In honor of the International Day of Elders, celebrated on October 1, veterans of the region toured production and infrastructure projects, as well as the operation of existing facilities.
First, they visited the «Syr Zhuldyzdary» Creative and Innovative Academy. This modern center can accommodate 500 students at a time, and up to 3,000 per day. It features a swimming pool, fitness and gymnastics rooms, table tennis, martial arts, and board game rooms. Additionally, there are classrooms for painting, drawing, arts and crafts, robotics, artificial intelligence, biotechnology, 3D modeling, eSports, and mathematics.
The next facility was the bakery, confectionery, and pasta production complex of «Kyzylorda-Nan» LLP. Three production facilities are currently operational, and a cookie production facility will soon begin operations. Thirty percent of products are sold through the company's own retail network, with the remainder supplied to the city and rural areas. Five hectares of land have been allocated for the project, and the necessary infrastructure has been installed. The interest rate on the 1.2 billion tenge preferential loan received from Halyk Bank of Kazakhstan is subsidized by the state. Currently, 120 people work here, and in the future, that number will increase to 150.
The veterans then toured the construction of a new combined heat and power plant. The 240 MW facility is being built as part of a joint project with the Turkish company «Aksa Energy». Equipment from General Electric (USA), Doosan Skoda (Czech Republic), AC BOILERS (Italy), and Mimsan (Turkey) has been delivered to the plant. Eighty percent of the construction work has been completed, with a gas distribution station and 45 kilometers of gas pipeline already built. The first gas turbine and two steam boilers will be commissioned this year, with the remainder to be commissioned in 2026.
Veterans also inspected the reconstruction work at the city's culture and recreation park and the Presidential Park. They visited the new municipal market, the «Kyzylorda SAZ-M» brick factory, the new building of the music college, the physics and mathematics boarding school, and a new 11,000-seat stadium.
In honor of the holiday, a celebratory event was held, bringing together veterans from the city and districts. Regional akim Nurlybek Nalibayev congratulated the older generation and women on this significant holiday, expressing his best wishes.

It is important to encourage veterans' contribution to society. The average life expectancy of the population has exceeded 75 years, which is an achievement of social policy».
In our region, large-scale efforts are underway to provide comprehensive social support for the elderly and improve the quality of healthcare. Over the past three years, the amount of one-time social assistance paid annually has increased from 1.5 million tenge to 5 million tenge for veterans of the Great Patriotic War, and from 90,000 to 196,000 tenge for those with equal status and home front workers. This year, approximately 1,700 veterans received one-time social assistance totaling 322 million tenge. The «Syr Meyіrіmі» project has been implemented in the region for several years. As part of the project, 225 lonely elderly people, people with disabilities, and low-income families in need of assistance are provided with lunch.
