During the meeting, the prospects for cooperation between Kazakhstan and the International Telecommunication Union in the field of digital and telecommunication technologies were discussed.

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated Doreen Bogdan-Martin on the 160th anniversary of the organization, emphasizing the important role of the ITU in strengthening global cooperation in the sphere of digital development.

The President paid special attention to issues related to the formation of a modern digital ecosystem and the development of infrastructure. He also highlighted Kazakhstan’s active participation in projects involving low-orbit satellite systems, including OneWeb, Starlink, Amazon Kuiper, and Shanghai Spacecom Satellite Technology.

For her part, Secretary-General Doreen Bogdan-Martin highly praised the country’s efforts in developing the digital industry and introducing artificial intelligence technologies. She confirmed the ITU’s readiness to further deepen its partnership with Kazakhstan and expand joint initiatives.
