Today, on October 6, marks the 33rd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Hellenic Republic. Over the past decades, Kazakhstan and Greece have built strong and mutually beneficial relations based on the principles of friendship, equality, and respect.

Special importance is attached by both sides to the development of trade and economic ties. The Intergovernmental Commission on Economic and Technological Cooperation and the Kazakhstan–Greek Business Council are working productively. In 2024, trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Greece reached a historic record – 2.8 billion USD.

There are promising prospects for cooperation in the fields of transport and logistics, energy, agriculture, and tourism.

Interregional cooperation with Greece is actively developing. Regular visits and cooperation agreements between Taraz and Ancient Olympia, Shymkent and Acharnes, Aktau and Piraeus, Astana and Elliniko–Argyroupoli demonstrate steady dynamics in strengthening interaction at the level of cities and regions.

Cultural and humanitarian ties between the two countries continue to play an important role. Ethnic Greeks who returned to their historical homeland from Kazakhstan, as well as the Greek diaspora living in our country, serve as a vital living bridge of friendship and mutual understanding.

The results achieved over 33 years of cooperation confirm the firm commitment of Kazakhstan and Greece to further deepen their partnership, open new prospects for collaboration, and strengthen the friendship between our peoples.
