Kazakhstan Took Part in the Asian Functional Fitness Championship

Riyadh, October 2-4, 2025 – For the first time, the Asian Functional Fitness Championship was held in the capital of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The event brought together more than 90 athletes from 10 countries, including Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Iran, Jordan, Uzbekistan, Mongolia, South Korea, Australia, and India.
Kazakhstan was represented by 11 athletes who demonstrated a high level of physical fitness, strength, and endurance.
The championship was organized with the support of the Ministry of Sport of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Saudi Sports for All Federation (SFA), as well as the International Functional Fitness Federation.
Over the course of three days, the participants competed in a series of intensive exercises designed to test strength, endurance, agility, coordination, balance, and mental resilience, showcasing the best qualities of functional fitness.
Winners and medalists from Kazakhstan:
1st place – Kamila Takeyeva
2nd place – Viktor Ilchenko and Valentin Zhukov
2nd place – Assylbek Zhaleyev and Dina Kassymova
3rd place – Artyom Matsak
4th place – Valentin Lukanovskiy and Xeniya Zhaleyeva
7th place – Amir Gaisin
10th place – Nurken Bakhtiyarov and Bayan Kinashev
Functional fitness is a modern sport that includes a set of exercises aimed at developing strength, endurance, speed, agility, coordination, and flexibility. It combines elements of weightlifting, gymnastics, and cardiovascular training, while being distinguished by its structured format, judging standards, and international regulations.
