Mangystau Region and Constanța County signed a memorandum of cooperation.

On October 7, the Akim of Mangystau Region, Nurdaulet Kilybay, met with a delegation led by Mădălina Lupu, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania to the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Florin Mitroi, Chairman of the Constanța County Council.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the development of interregional cooperation, attracting investments, and the implementation of cultural and tourism-related projects.

Florin Mitroi noted the high potential of economic relations between Romania and Kazakhstan and expressed Constanța County’s interest in establishing mutually beneficial partnerships with Mangystau.

Nurdaulet Kilybay confirmed the region’s readiness to carry out joint projects with Romanian partners, emphasizing that Mangystau has significant investment potential and is open to new initiatives, international cooperation, and foreign investment. He expressed confidence that strengthening ties with Romania would contribute to the development of both regions.

At the end of the meeting, Mangystau Region and Constanța County signed a memorandum of cooperation. The document is aimed at strengthening partnerships in economic, cultural, and social areas and at enabling the launch of new joint projects.

Currently, five enterprises with Romanian capital are operating in various sectors of Mangystau Region’s economy. Between January and July 2025, bilateral trade turnover amounted to 378.2 million US dollars.
