25 September 2025, Montreal. On the margins of the 42^nd Session of the ICAO Assembly, Chairwoman of the Civil Aviation Committee of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Ms. Saltanat Tompieva, and the Permanent Representative of Kazakhstan to ICAO, Mr. Timur Tlegenov, held a meeting with the Head of the Delegation of the United Kingdom, Director General of the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA UK), Ms. Rannia Leontaridi.

The Parties discussed the expansion of bilateral cooperation, including increasing the frequency of flights between Kazakhstan and the United Kingdom under the Fifth Freedom of the Air arrangements.

It was noted that Kazakhstan’s effective implementation of ICAO standards currently stands at 82% for flight safety and 83% for aviation security.

Ms. Tompieva emphasized that Kazakhstan highly values its partnership with the United Kingdom and remains open to new joint initiatives in the field of civil aviation.
