21 September 2025, Montreal. On the margins of the 42^nd Session of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Assembly, the Head of the Delegation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Chairwoman of the Civil Aviation Committee of the Ministry of Transport, Ms. Saltanat Tompieva, and the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Kazakhstan to ICAO, Mr. Timur Tlegenov, held a meeting with the Head of the Delegation of the State of Qatar, President of the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority, Mr. Mohammed bin Faleh Al-Hajri.

During the meeting, the Parties discussed current areas of bilateral cooperation in the field of civil aviation. Both sides expressed interest in enhancing interaction in flight safety, aviation security, personnel training, and in increasing the number of direct flights between the two countries. The Qatari side confirmed its readiness to sign a bilateral intergovernmental air services agreement.

The Parties agreed to continue their cooperation in this area.
It should be noted that Qatar is a candidate for election to Part III (States elected on a geographical basis) of the ICAO Council from the Arab Civil Aviation Organization (ACAO).

The discussions were held in a friendly and constructive atmosphere.
