The national equestrian games "Uly dala dubiri" began in the city of Arkalyk in honor of the Republic Day. The purpose of the event is to preserve and popularize the heritage of our ancestors, develop national sports and educate the younger generation in the spirit of patriotism.

Traditional competitions are held annually. This year, four national teams from the city of Arkalyk and nearby rural districts are taking part in them. Organizational support for the event is provided by the city Department of Physical Culture and Sports.

The opening ceremony began with the performance of the National Anthem and the raising of the National Flag. Akim of the city Amirkhan Asanov addressed the participants and the audience with a welcoming speech, noting the importance of the event. Honorary citizen of Arkalyk, renowned master of decorative and applied arts and local historian Shaptibai Baydildin blessed the participants and young athletes.

The equestrian games will last two days. The program includes kokpar, tai-zharys and kunan-zharys races, as well as the main Alaman baige horse races. The audience will enjoy spectacular competitions and a rich program.

In Arkalyk, the national equestrian Games are held twice a year — in spring and autumn. These events are aimed at the development of national sports and the formation of a healthy lifestyle among young people.
