A gala concert of the International Folklore and Music Festival «Korkyt Zhane Uly Dala Sazy» was held at the Arts Center. The festival was organized with the support of the Kyzylorda Regional Akimat in conjunction with the International Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation.
The event was attended by Aktoty Raimkulova, President of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, renowned scholars, researchers, cultural and artistic figures, intellectuals, and public figures from Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, as well as local specialists.
Regional akim Nurlybek Nalibayev emphasized the importance of the festival in strengthening cultural ties between Turkic peoples and popularizing national art, expressing gratitude to the guests from fraternal countries.
«Our President Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich, at the recent 12th Summit of the Organization of Turkic States in Gabala, Azerbaijan, said: «We constantly say that the Turkic people, with their common roots, share a common history and centuries-old history. All this is the golden thread of our fruitful unity and eternal friendship».
The festival is of great importance for uplifting the spirit of fraternal peoples, popularizing their folklore and musical arts, and strengthening mutual cultural ties.
The inclusion of Korkyt Ata's heritage in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List is a fruitful result of our many years of joint work.
This traditional artistic festival, which has attracted the attention of the entire Turkic world and filled the steppe with song and light, is a vivid reflection of our national spirit, the eternal heritage, and the cultural continuity of the Turkic people. May the unity and spiritual integrity of the Turkic peoples be strengthened! "Let the foundation of our independent state be strong and its sovereignty firm!» - said Nurlybek Mashbekovich.
Aktoty Raimkulova, President of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, expressed gratitude to the Kyzylorda region leadership for the high-quality organization of the international event, which united the fraternal Turkic peoples.
At the concert, zhyrau and zhyrshy performers such as Elmura Zhanabergen, Ulzhan Baibosynova, Akmaral Nogaybayeva, Sholpan Bimbetova, Maira Sarsenbayeva, Serik Zhaksygulov, Kunsulu Turikpen, Bisembek Toleubay, as well as Zhetysu School graduate Nurzhan Zhanpeyisov, Arkin School representative Birzhan Eszhanov, and Saltanat Yersultan generously shared their art.
Urmat Yntayev and Aydin Orsulov from the Altai Republic of the Russian Federation once again demonstrated that the melodies of nomadic peoples, rooted in nature, ancestral spirits, and heroic tales, have not lost their originality. The art of throat singing and the sounds of ancient instruments such as the topshur and kobyz are still preserved among the Altai peoples. These melodies convey the breath of the mountains, the murmur of river water, and the rhythm of pastoral life.
The Azerbaijani mugham group «Karabakh» amazed the audience with their performance of complex melodic patterns in the national style. The Kyrgyz komuz ensemble and Samat Kocherbayev performed «Aqaq», reviving the ancient musical heritage of the Turkic peoples. The Uzbek ensemble «Shashmaqom» and a group of dancers presented the finest examples of national art. The Almaty neo-ethno folk ensemble «Arqayim» performed «Tengir Azun», combining ancient motifs with modern approaches.
The throat singing tradition of the ancient Turks is well preserved among the peoples of Tuva, where it is called «khoomei». The folk duo «Esh», which has preserved this ancient art, was also the festival's guest of honor. The audience was particularly enthusiastic about the performances of Sinan Baryş and Kamber Nara from the Republic of Turkey.
The international festival once again demonstrated that modern Turkic culture and music draw strength from a shared history and spiritual roots, and that the songs and melodies of kindred peoples, resonating with one another, strengthen the unity of fraternal countries.
