The Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Atomic Energy held a meeting with a delegation of the United Kingdom led by Lord John Alderdice, Member of the House of Lords and the United Kingdom Trade Envoy for Azerbaijan and Central Asia.

During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for cooperation between Kazakhstan and the United Kingdom in the field of peaceful use of nuclear energy, including the safe deployment of innovative nuclear technologies, as well as potential areas of scientific collaboration and personnel training.

Deputy Chairman of the Agency Asset Makhambetov presented an overview of the current state and prospects for the development of Kazakhstan’s nuclear sector, highlighting the country’s efforts to establish a national nuclear cluster, improve the regulatory framework, and strengthen human resource potential.

Lord John Alderdice emphasized Kazakhstan’s high potential in the field of nuclear energy and reaffirmed the United Kingdom’s readiness to further enhance partnership in mutually beneficial areas.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties confirmed their mutual interest in deepening dialogue and implementing joint projects in the peaceful use of nuclear energy, and agreed to continue expert consultations through relevant government bodies and scientific-technical organizations.
