Budapest, October 11, 2025 - The team of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Hungary took part in the 40th anniversary SPAR Budapest Marathon Festival, one of the largest sporting events in Hungary, which annually brings together thousands of running enthusiasts from all over the world.

The Embassy’s team, consisting of four staff members, joined the 8-kilometer relay race held along the picturesque banks of the Danube River. The festival featured more than 160 teams, including representatives of diplomatic missions, international organizations accredited in Hungary, as well as Hungarian companies and public associations.

The participation of the Embassy’s team reflected Kazakhstan’s commitment to strengthening friendship among nations, promoting sports and a healthy lifestyle, and encouraging the diplomatic corps’ active involvement in Hungary’s public life.

The SPAR Budapest Marathon Festival, held annually since 1984, is regarded as one of the most prestigious running events in Central Europe. This year, the festival gathered more than 20,000 participants from 80 countries, including both professional athletes and amateurs.

The Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan expresses its gratitude to the organizers for the excellent organization of the event and for creating an atmosphere of unity, inspiration, and sporting spirit.

For reference: The marathon included a wide range of races - from children’s runs to the classic 42-kilometer distance passing through Budapest’s historic center, its bridges across the Danube, and the city’s most iconic landmarks.
