Prosecutor General Berik Asylov held a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Kazakhstan Sally Axworthy.

The representative of the United Kingdom was informed about the main functions and priorities of the Kazakh Prosecutor's Office.

During the meeting, a wide range of issues related to further strengthening bilateral cooperation in the field of the rule of law and human rights protection, including the extradition of wanted persons in specific criminal cases, were discussed.

The Prosecutor General paid special attention to the need to further build up the contractual and legal framework by concluding agreements in the field of criminal proceedings.

The interlocutor confirmed her willingness to cooperate on all legal issues of mutual interest.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to cooperate in countering transnational crime, cyber threats, money laundering, and the return of illegally withdrawn assets.
