On October 2, 2025, during a working visit to Shymkent, Deputy Minister of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan Zhannat Dubirova visited one of the country's largest water supply and sanitation companies, Su Resurstary Marketing LLC . The company is rightfully considered one of the best not only in Kazakhstan but also in the entire Central Asian region, demonstrating a high level of digitalization and automation in the public utilities sector.
During the visit, the Vice Minister was given a detailed overview of the company's technological processes, management system, and new digital solutions. Thanks to the implementation of modern technologies, the company has achieved significant improvements in the efficiency and quality of its services.
Today, all production and transport processes at the plant are almost completely automated . Water intake, distribution, and purification are managed in real time using digital systems.
Automatic systems monitor water pressure, flow rates, drainage and collector networks , and wastewater treatment processes. All data is transmitted to the control center, where it is analyzed and, if necessary, immediate management decisions are made.
The company actively uses a geographic information system (GIS) and hydraulic modeling . These technologies allow for accurate monitoring of network conditions, prompt response to emergencies, and repair planning. Hydraulic modeling, in turn, helps optimize pressure, reduce water loss, and lower operating costs.
According to Zhanat Dubirova, such solutions not only improve system reliability but also provide a new level of customer service. Digitalization makes enterprise operations transparent, fast, and secure, eliminating human error.
One of the company's key development areas is the transition to a unified SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) platform . This system will integrate all local automated control units into a single network.
SCADA will enable full control of the water supply and treatment process, monitoring equipment status, anticipating potential malfunctions, and proactively performing maintenance.
The Vice Minister noted that this project is already underway, and once completed, Shymkent's water management system will reach a qualitatively new level. This will improve efficiency, reduce water losses, and make process control entirely digital.
During her visit, Zhanat Dubirova also learned about the multifunctional automatic water analyzer used at the facility. This device can determine the quality of drinking and wastewater in just 30 minutes based on four key indicators: COD, phosphates, ammonia, and nitrites .
Previously, such analyses took several hours, and sometimes even days, but now the company can quickly obtain accurate results, allowing it to immediately respond to potential deviations and prevent contamination.
The use of such equipment was made possible by the implementation of new digital technologies in the company's laboratory system. This enabled continuous and highly accurate water monitoring.
Su Resurstary – Marketing is not only a modern enterprise but also a model of environmental responsibility . It operates a biogas plant that processes waste and generates electricity. Thanks to this, the company covers up to 50% of its electricity needs and 100% of its thermal energy needs .
In addition, the company has implemented the innovative "Hydro Process" biotechnology , which eliminates excess sludge and unpleasant odors. As a result, sludge volumes have been reduced by 95%, completely eliminating the need for landfilling.
This technology delivers significant economic benefits, with annual savings of approximately 200 million tenge . The company's experience has already been recognized as successful and recommended for implementation at other water management companies across the country.
At the end of her working visit, Zhanat Dubirova praised the work of Su Resurstary Marketing LLC. She stated that the company exemplifies best practices , demonstrating how digitalization can effectively transform traditional engineering systems.
The Vice Minister emphasized that the Ministry of Industry and Construction plans to develop cooperation with the enterprise to expand its successful digitalization experience to other regions of Kazakhstan.
This collaboration will accelerate the modernization of public utility infrastructure, improve the reliability of water supply and sanitation, and strengthen the industry's environmental sustainability.
As Zhanat Dubirova noted, water management today plays a crucial role in ensuring the country's sustainable development. In the context of climate change and increasing urbanization, issues of effective water resource management are becoming a priority.
Shymkent-based company "Su Resources – Marketing" demonstrates that the effective implementation of digital solutions not only improves service quality but also significantly reduces costs while ensuring environmental safety.
In the future, similar systems are planned to be implemented in other major cities of Kazakhstan. This will create a unified water resource management network, where every process—from water collection to treatment—will be under complete digital control.
The Vice Minister of Industry and Construction's working visit demonstrated that Shymkent is one of the country's leaders in the digitalization of the utilities sector . The experience of Su Resources Marketing LLC demonstrates that the combination of innovation, automation, and an environmentally friendly approach yields tangible results.
This is not just about introducing modern technologies; a new culture of water resource management is being formed, where efficiency, savings, and environmental concerns become inseparable parts of a single process.
