On October 3, 2025, officers of the Enbekshi District Police Department of the Shymkent City Police Department conducted a planned raid on shops and retail outlets selling meat products, as well as slaughterhouses and private farms located in the district. The main goal of this event is to prevent the sale of low-quality and illegally traded meat products that may pose a threat to the health of the population, as well as to monitor compliance with veterinary and sanitary requirements.
Currently, ensuring food safety for the city's population is the main focus of the police and local executive bodies. To this end, Enbekshy district police officers, together with the veterinary control department and representatives of the local akimat, conducted a comprehensive inspection of meat products.
During the inspection, a total of 18 retail outlets and 5 individual farms selling meat products were inspected. As it turned out, some entrepreneurs and sellers did not comply with sanitary and hygienic requirements during slaughtering and storing meat. In addition, some of the meat products did not have the appropriate veterinary certificates and certificates . The absence of such documents raises doubts about the legality of the product and its safety.
As a result, administrative cases were compiled against the owners of 6 trading establishments that failed to provide veterinary certificates and were sent to the authorized bodies for taking appropriate measures under Article 406 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Kazakhstan . According to this article, the sale and storage of livestock products without veterinary documents is considered a violation of the law and provides for fines or temporary suspension of activities.
During the inspection, police officers reminded entrepreneurs of the need to strictly comply with sanitary requirements and veterinary regulations. Since meat products are the main food consumed by residents every day, their quality and safety are important factors that directly affect the health of city residents.
Violations detected during the raid were recorded not only in trading places, but also in private yards. Some residents slaughtered animals in undesignated places, that is, in conditions that do not meet sanitary requirements, and then offered the products for sale. Such actions increase the risk of spreading infectious diseases. Therefore, police officers and veterinary specialists explained that slaughtering animals should be carried out only at specially authorized stations .
The Enbekshy District Police Department issued a special appeal to city residents and business owners to comply with the law. It recommended that each consumer obtain a veterinary certificate before purchasing meat products, check the origin of the product, and check the storage conditions.
As the management of the department noted, such inspections will continue regularly in the future. This is because low-quality and illegally imported meat products pose a serious threat to public health. Ensuring the sanitary safety of the population, as well as maintaining order in the food market, is one of the main tasks of law enforcement agencies.
In addition, police representatives provided entrepreneurs with explanations and advice on how to prevent violations and engage in honest business. It was noted that all documents for the sale of meat products, including a veterinary certificate, laboratory results, and documents confirming the place of origin of the product, are mandatory.
According to the press service of the Shymkent City Police Department, such raids are aimed at protecting the health of residents and increasing responsibility for food quality. Especially considering the increased demand for meat on the eve of the upcoming holidays, it is especially important to monitor the quality of products on the market.
In conclusion, the Enbekshi District Police Department called on residents and businessmen to comply with the law and announced that work to ensure public health and safety will continue. According to the police, similar preventive measures will be carried out in other districts of the city.
Today, the food market of Shymkent is developing rapidly, but compliance with quality and safety requirements is a shared responsibility of all parties. Therefore, the police, veterinary services, and representatives of the akimat will continue to work together to increase consumer confidence and prevent infectious diseases.
Thanks to such comprehensive measures, city residents will have the opportunity to consume high-quality and safe meat products. The main thing is that every citizen should not be indifferent to their own health and the safety of those around them.
