On October 6, 2025, a large-scale clean-up was held in Shymkent as part of the “Clean Kazakhstan” republican campaign to promote environmental culture and protect the environment. In all districts of the city, municipal employees, representatives of government agencies, and volunteer residents joined forces and actively participated in cleaning streets and riverbanks. This initiative is aimed not only at improving the beauty of the city, but also at strengthening the responsibility of each citizen for his native land.

In particular, in Turan district , organized by the Department of Urban Development of the Environment, a large-scale clean-up was carried out on the banks of the Badam River . The environmental event, which began at nine in the morning, was held at a highly organized level. Participants cleaned the riverbed from household waste, plastic bottles and garbage. One person tidied up the bushes near the bank, while the other began to clean up the household waste accumulated along the river. Within a few hours, the riverbank was significantly cleaned. The area, which was previously covered with various types of garbage, is now becoming a clean and comfortable place to relax.
