An analysis of the facts of gas poisoning registered in the city in 2025 was conducted, and a specific work algorithm was developed jointly with the city prosecutor's office. As a result, red zones and risk zones were identified based on a leaf diagram, and targeted preventive work is being organized in these areas.
In order to prevent and mitigate gas poisoning, the Shymkent City Gas Technical Service, a municipal state institution under the Shymkent City Environmental Quality and Control Department, has been systematically conducting educational activities.
According to the algorithm, preventive work was carried out in the microdistricts "Samal-3", "Akzhaik", "Nursat", "Kunchygus", "Kaytpas", "8 microdistrict" and "Sport", which are included in the red zone, as well as in the territories of "Samal-1, 2", "11 microdistrict", "Sairam", "17 microdistrict", "Koksai", "Kyzylzhar", "112 oram", "5 microdistrict" and "Karasu", which are classified as risk zones.
The institution's specialists conducted explanatory work on the safe use of gas equipment and distributed special memos to residents. In addition, 2,025 subscribers whose domestic gas appliances did not meet technical requirements were identified, and information was sent to the "QAZAQGAZ AIMAQ" SFC to take appropriate measures.
For safety reasons, 230 homes have been temporarily disconnected from the gas system until gas supplies are fully restored, and work is ongoing on 1,795 homes.
During the inspection of the gas technical service, 810 subscribers were identified with defects that posed a direct threat to human life, and their gas systems were temporarily disconnected until the defects were eliminated.
In addition, administrative measures were taken against citizens who violated the rules for using gas consumption systems. In particular, in accordance with Part 1 of Article 306 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 73 individuals were fined a total of 1,030,184 tenge. And under Article 305, 11 individuals were brought to administrative responsibility, and a total of 304,730 tenge were collected as fines.
The city's gas technical service urges residents to conduct timely inspections of household gas equipment and strictly follow the rules for safe operation. This is the main guarantee of protecting human life and ensuring household safety.
