In order to improve the environmental situation and create a comfortable living environment for residents, large-scale landscaping and landscaping projects are being implemented in the city of Shymkent.
In 2025, the construction of a new park "Ecopark" began in the Abay district, replacing the former landfill. This project will increase the ecological culture of the metropolis and provide residents with a modern space for recreation and sports. During the construction, landscaping of the park area is also actively underway.
As part of the sponsorship, the Dani Nan company has undertaken to plant 5,000 tree seedlings (mountain ash, oak, catalpa, ash, maple, bird cherry, poplar, linden) in the park. The height of each tree ranges from 3 to 7 meters. In addition, with the sponsorship of BI GROUP LLP, it is planned to dig 9 water wells and install an automatic irrigation system on 13 hectares of land. With the support of DALA FRUIT LLP, 1,800 fruit trees will be planted and ornamental plants will be planted on an area of 1,215 m². A drip irrigation system will also be installed on 8 hectares of land.
The Urban Environment Development Department is also systematically landscaping the city streets. In 2025, lawn and irrigation system renovation work was carried out on 27 main streets with a length of 54.2 kilometers (total area 500 thousand m²). 32 water wells were commissioned on the main streets to provide water for the landscaping areas.
During the spring planting season, 3,000 tree seedlings (gujum, plane, tulip trees) will be planted on the main streets of newly built microdistricts, and another 2,600 seedlings 2.5–7 meters tall will be planted in the fall season.
In order to beautify the city's streets and enhance the beauty of flower beds, more than 22,000 perennial flowers (lavender, juniper, anabel, spirea, roses) are being planted within the framework of a public-private partnership.
In addition, a greenhouse with a total area of 1 hectare was rented on the basis of sponsorship support, where work on growing flower seedlings began. This initiative will allow for the high-quality and timely implementation of more than 1.6 million flower plantings on city streets by 2026.
The large-scale project is aimed not only at improving the beauty of the city of Shymkent, but also at saving budget funds and ensuring environmental sustainability.
Shymkent is taking firm steps towards becoming a modern city with developed greenery and ecological culture, striving to create a comfortable environment for its residents.
