The winners of the debate tournament that began two days ago in Shymkent were solemnly awarded today. The republican debate tournament "From Deep History to a Bright Future!", organized to commemorate the Republic Day and the 35th anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of State Sovereignty of the Republic of Kazakhstan, was held at a high level.
The two-day intellectual competition featured more than 120 teams from all over the country competing in two leagues. The best teams in the opinion and reasoning, oratory and argument competitions were identified and the winners were awarded.
The head of the Shymkent Youth Resource Center, Zhanserik Zhuman, noted the importance of the tournament for young people. "Today's tournament was a special event dedicated to the Republic Day and the 35th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. It would be correct to say that this competition is a reflection of the work of not only debaters, but also the country's civically active youth for the benefit of society. Such republican-level tournaments give a great impetus to the development of critical thinking, oratory skills, and leadership qualities of young people," he said.
In the final round, the best debaters from Almaty and Turkestan region competed. Debate participant Akdaulet Seisenbayev noted that the topics raised during the competition were relevant. According to him, each region clearly showed its own uniqueness and point of view during the tournament. In particular, the issue of educational migration of youth and the development of the education system was one of the most complex topics. “We discussed ways to increase the potential of educational migrants in Shymkent. If the local akimat and higher education institutions joined forces and provided real opportunities for young people, the city’s status as an educational center would increase,” he said. Agabek Bakhtiyarovich, a graduate of the International Kazakh-Turkish University named after Khoja Akhmet Yassawi, said that the tournament was not just a competition, but a platform for spiritual and intellectual practice.
