Discussion of Prospects for Cooperation with Hungary’s Leading Legal Institutions

Budapest, 15 October 2025 – Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Hungary, Mr. Abzal Saparbekuly, took part in the official inauguration ceremony of the newly appointed judges of the Constitutional Court of Hungary.
         The festive ceremony, held at the central building of the Constitutional Court, was attended by judges of the Court, the Deputy Minister of Interior, the Chief of the National Police, the heads of the Migration and Competition Authorities, as well as prominent lawyers and justice officials.   
         In his congratulatory address, Ambassador Saparbekuly emphasized the strategic nature of Kazakh–Hungarian relations and underlined the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation, particularly in the sphere of law enforcement, as well as the relevance of Hungary’s experience in implementing the key messages from President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s recent Address to the Nation.
         During the event, Ambassador Saparbekuly presented the “30th Anniversary of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan” commemorative medal to Mr. Ákos Kozma, former Hungarian Commissioner for Fundamental Rights, who was appointed as a Judge of the Constitutional Court on 26 September 2025, pursuant to the Presidential Decree of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 28 August 2025.
         Mr. Kozma, in turn, expressed his gratitude to President Tokayev and the people of Kazakhstan for the high distinction and affirmed his readiness to further deepen cooperation between the two countries in the fields of law enforcement, justice, and the rule of law, expressing interest in closer collaboration with Kazakhstan’s Ombudsman and Constitutional Court institutions.
