This year marks the 35th anniversary of the adoption of one of the most important documents in the history of the Republic of Kazakhstan - the Declaration of State Sovereignty. This historic document marked the beginning of a decisive period on the path of our country to independence.
The Declaration adopted by the Supreme Council of the Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic on October 25, 1990, defined the state independence of Kazakhstan and laid the legal, political and economic foundations of a sovereign state. The document affirmed the principles of territorial integrity of the republic, independence of state power and protection of national interests.
The adoption of the Declaration was a historical turning point in the formation of the country as an independent state. It laid the foundation for subsequent constitutional reforms and the adoption of the Constitutional Law on Independence, paving the way for Kazakhstan to be recognized as a sovereign state in the international arena. The Declaration on State Sovereignty is a symbol of the aspiration of our people for freedom, independence and national unity. This document is considered the beginning of the development of Kazakhstan as a democratic, legal and secular state.
