An open day was held in the women's colony of the Abai region in honor of the Day of Unity of the People of Kazakhstan. 

              On the eve of the Day of Unity of the People of Kazakhstan, an open day was held in the women's colony of the Abai region, during which the convicted women met with their relatives.

             This is the second event of this format organized this year. It was timed to coincide with the celebration of May 1 and was held in a warm, informal atmosphere. The administration, together with the convicts, has prepared a rich festive program.

            The festive concert included folk dances and songs of various ethnic groups, theatrical performances about friendship and unity, as well as performances reflecting the richness of Kazakhstan's cultures.

             The meeting of the grandmother with her little grandson was especially touching. For all those present, it was a reminder of the importance of family ties and support.

             — Family support is especially important for those who are serving their sentences. It is in such conditions that many people begin to truly realize the value of their relatives. Visits from loved ones help to keep in touch with family and promote socialization," said Anara Sabieva, Deputy head of the institution.

            After the concert, the guests got acquainted with the conditions of detention, life and work of the convicts during a tour of the institution.
