Librarians have always stood at the forefront of national culture, knowledge, and enlightenment. This day is a special occasion to recognize and honor their dedicated work. In this regard, on October 24 — Librarian’s Day — a ceremonial reception for library professionals was held at the “Rukhaniyat” Center with the participation of District Akim Zhandos Erkinbek.

In his address, the district akim noted:

“The library is the spiritual foundation of society. It plays an important role in the development of the community and the strengthening of moral values. As President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized at the National Kurultai, ‘The development of libraries is the development of the nation.’ This field forms the cornerstone of culture and education,” — said Zhandos Erkinbek, highlighting the importance of library work.

During the event, the opening of the “Rukhaniyat” Center in 2024, supported by regional leadership, was noted with appreciation. The relocation of the district library to a new building became a symbol of great respect for librarians.

At the ceremony, veteran librarian Zina Shakhanova was awarded the “Labor Glory” badge, while other outstanding employees of the field received Letters of Appreciation from the district akim and commemorative gifts.

Chairman of the district maslikhat Adil Koshalakov, Chairman of the District Council of Veterans Askar Meretkov, and Zina Shakhanova congratulated the participants and emphasized the special role of libraries in educating and nurturing the younger generation.

Today, there are 18 libraries operating in the Karmakshy district. These spiritual centers hold a collection of more than 437,000 books and serve nearly 19,000 readers.

Such events clearly demonstrate the recognition and appreciation of those who contribute to the preservation and promotion of spiritual and cultural values.
