District Akim Berik Sarmenbayev took part in the opening ceremony of the “Syrdarya Barysy” district tournament in Kazakh kuresi, which is being held for the third time. The sports event was also attended by Chairman of the District Maslikhat E. Azhikenov, Member of the Regional Maslikhat Zh. Embergenov, Chairman of the District Council of Veterans M. Keldibayev, District Maslikhat Deputy A. Esnazar, and Deputy Head of the District Police Department K. Asanuly.

The district head wished success to the competitors on the eve of Republic Day.

— Head of State Kassym-Jomart Kemeluly Tokayev emphasized: “Becoming a champion means glorifying the nation. The glory of athletes is the glory of the entire people. Their status is the status of the whole state. Therefore, we must take pride in every achievement of our athletes. All of this is vital for promoting sports and building a healthy society.”

Following the instructions of the President, and with the support of the Government and Regional Akim Nurlibek Mashbekuly Nalybayev, special attention is being paid to the development of mass sports in our region. A table tennis center worth 2.7 billion tenge has been put into operation in the regional center. A new 11,000-seat stadium was also recently inaugurated. Over the past three years, 20 sports facilities have been built, and an additional 6 sports complexes will be commissioned under the “Aýyl – El Besigi” program. With the support of the “Qazaqstan Khalqyna” Fund, a 2.9 billion tenge fitness and rehabilitation center for people with special needs is under construction. On the left bank of the Syrdarya, a multi-purpose sports and wellness complex with an indoor swimming pool, worth 6.8 billion tenge, is being built, while construction of the multi-functional “Qyzylorda Arena”, costing 20.5 billion tenge, is progressing rapidly. In the Syrdarya district, great support is being provided to the development of sports, and numerous cultural and athletic events are being organized. The third “Syrdarya Barysy” tournament is clear evidence of this. Through such competitions, our champions emerge and contribute to the promotion of national sports, — said Berik Abdighapparuly.

At the opening of the tournament, M. Keldibayev, Chairman of the District Council of Veterans, also delivered remarks and wished success to the young athletes.

Young wrestlers representing the district took part in the tournament and competed on the mat to determine the strongest.
