Bucharest, October 22, 2025 – A business forum titled “Investing in Kazakhstan: New Horizons for Romanian Business” was held in Bucharest, organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Romania, JSC “National Company Kazakh Invest”, and the Kazakh company KMG International (Rompetrol).

The event brought together representatives of the Romanian Agency for Investments and Foreign Trade, Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Romania and Bucharest, Honorary Consuls of Kazakhstan in Romania, presidents of major port operators, associated members of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, representatives of the Confederation of Business Organizations, Romanian companies in the fields of energy, agriculture, and digitalization, as well as research centers and institutes.

The forum demonstrated a high level of mutual understanding and interest, becoming a platform for meaningful dialogue among representatives of government institutions, business circles, and industry associations of Romania. During the forum, the Kazakh side presented current investment cooperation priorities and measures aimed at improving the business climate and facilitating the implementation of joint projects.

Opening the forum, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Romania, Mr. Yerlik Ali, briefed the participants on the key aspects of the recent Address of the Head of State, noting that Kazakhstan demonstrates sustainable economic growth and provides favorable conditions for foreign investors. He emphasized that Kazakhstan views Romania as an important partner within the European Union, with long-term cooperation prospects in energy, transport, and industry.

Ms. Ulbosyn Sarybayeva, the European Representative of Kazakh Invest, delivered a presentation on current investment opportunities, key areas of state support, and mechanisms for assisting foreign investors.

Participants of the forum unanimously noted the growing interest of the Romanian business community in Kazakhstan as a leading economic hub of Central Asia and a reliable partner within the framework of the Middle Corridor. The importance of establishing direct contacts between entrepreneurs of both countries was also underlined.

In this context, special attention was given to the remarks of participants of the recent Romanian business mission to the Mangystau Region, who highlighted the successful outcomes of the visit and the growing interest in cooperation with Kazakh partners. It was noted that the signed memorandum on twinning relations between Constanța County and the Mangystau Region opens new opportunities for interregional cooperation.

During the event, representatives of Romanian businesses shared their experience of cooperation with Kazakhstan and emphasized the importance of knowledge exchange and best practices.

The forum concluded with a mutual agreement to continue practical dialogue and implement joint projects within the framework of the Intergovernmental Commission and sectoral business groups.
