At a solemn meeting dedicated to Republic Day, Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev outlined the directions of the country's socio-economic development and highlighted significant achievements in recent years.

According to the President, Kazakhstan is steadfastly implementing a diversification policy to radically modernize the national economy. One of the main pillars of the country's development is the transport and logistics sector.

– “Kazakhstan should become the main logistics center, that is, the hub, of Eurasia. Our country has the potential for this, and we have ample opportunities,” said the Head of State.

To this end, this year the second line of the Dostyk-Moyinty railway was put into operation. This is the largest railway construction project during the period of independence. In addition, 13 thousand kilometers of highways have been built and repaired. There has also been significant progress in the field of air transport: since the beginning of the year, 36 new international flights have been opened, and concrete steps are being taken to develop the cargo system.

The manufacturing sector grew by 7.5 percent, with the share of small and medium-sized businesses approaching 40 percent. The pace of construction has also increased, with 19 million square meters of housing built last year - the highest figure since independence.

The agricultural sector is experiencing steady growth. In recent years, the total output has increased 2.5 times.
– “This year, our granaries are full of grain, more than 20 million tons of wheat have been harvested,” the President said.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that social policy is also very important for the future of the country.

– “Kazakhstan is a social state according to the Constitution. Therefore, we will definitely fulfill this responsible mission. Our social strategy must be effective and fair,” the Head of State said.

Over the past five years, funding for education has tripled. Teachers' salaries have doubled, and their status in society has risen significantly. 1,200 new schools have been opened across the country, including modern educational institutions under the national project "Schools of the Future".

Science is also receiving special support - over the past five years, funding for science has increased 5 times. There are branches of 33 prestigious foreign universities operating in Kazakhstan.

The Head of State also noted that there are tangible results in improving the nation's health. Since 2020, funding for the medical sector has increased threefold, 927 new medical facilities have been put into operation, and the average life expectancy in the country has exceeded 75 years.

In his speech, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed confidence in the successful implementation of reforms aimed at preserving the independence and stability of the country, strengthening national unity, and increasing the country's potential.
