In honor of Republic Day, ceremonial award presentations were held for servicemembers of the National Guard and officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The events took place at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan and at Military Unit 5573 of the National Guard in Astana.

Minister of Internal Affairs, Police Lieutenant General Yerzhan Sadenov, personally presented the state awards to the honorees. In his address, he emphasized that the current generation of defenders continues the noble traditions of their forebears with honor and dignity:

“Today, on the eve of Republic Day, we celebrate the best representatives of the internal affairs system — those who serve with honor, ensuring the peace and safety of our citizens. The servicemembers of the National Guard and the officers of the police continue the work of their predecessors with courage, loyalty to their oath, and devotion to their homeland. Your daily service is the foundation of stability and order in our country. I congratulate you on this occasion and wish you good health, well-being, and continued success in serving Kazakhstan!” — emphasized the Minister.

Among the awardees were servicemembers who distinguished themselves both in routine service and in emergency situations.

For exemplary performance of duties, loyalty to the oath, and high professionalism, the “Aibyn” Order, 2nd Class, named after Baurzhan Momyshuly, was awarded to Colonel Serik Narymbekov, Deputy Chief of the Main Staff and Head of the Organizational and Mobilization Directorate of the Main Command of the National Guard.

Of special note was the heroic act of Sergeant 3rd Class Mikhail Bubnov, guard commander of the 4th Rifle Company of Military Unit 6606, and his assistant Corporal Yerlan Kydyrbai. In April 2025, while on their way to duty, they noticed a burning residential house and immediately rushed to the scene. After learning that three young children were trapped inside, they fearlessly entered the fire, which covered about 100 square meters, and rescued all three. For their bravery and selflessness in saving human lives, they were awarded the “For Heroism” medal (“Ерлігі үшін”).

Another act of vigilance was demonstrated by Captain Amangali Yemenov, head of a department in Military Unit 5572 of the Regional Command “Ońtústik”, who saved a young woman from jumping off a rooftop in Almaty. His heroic deed was recognized with the “For Combat Valor” medal (“Жауынгерлік ерлігі үшін”).

In total, about 80 servicemembers and police officers received awards by order of the Minister, and an additional 200 servicemembers were commended by order of the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs — Commander-in-Chief of the National Guard for exemplary service, dedication to duty, courage, and personal heroism. The Commander-in-Chief also presented a number of servicemembers with new military ranks and certificates of merit.

The ceremonies became a clear recognition of the dedication and professionalism of the servicemembers who stand daily in defense of the security, law, and peace of the citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
