A ceremonial flag-raising ceremony was held in Shymkent to mark October 25—Republic Day and the 35th anniversary of the Declaration of State Sovereignty.

The event took place at Flagpole Square in the Shymcity microdistrict and became one of the key events of the festive program, symbolizing independence, unity, and pride for the country.

The ceremony began with the National Anthem of the Republic of Kazakhstan. At that moment, the blue flag—a symbol of freedom and peace—rose majestically above the square, symbolizing the strength and unity of the Kazakh people.

The event was attended by Shymkent Akim Gabit Syzdykbekov, representatives of the intelligentsia, deputies, civil servants, law enforcement officers, military personnel, youth, volunteers, and city residents.

The speakers noted that Republic Day is a holiday symbolizing the people of Kazakhstan's centuries-old aspiration for independence and freedom. The Declaration of State Sovereignty, adopted in 1990, marked the beginning of the development of modern Kazakh statehood.

During the ceremony, Shymkent artists performed patriotic compositions glorifying state symbols and national values. The festive atmosphere was filled with a sense of pride, unity, and respect for the country's history.

The patriotic march, attended by over 300 active young citizens holding the national flag, made a particularly impressive impression. The procession began at the Bäydäbek bi monument, proceeded along Bäydäbek bi Avenue, and ended at Flagpole Square, where a ceremonial raising of the national flag took place.

The ceremonial raising of the National Flag was a vivid affirmation of the high patriotic spirit and commitment to the ideals of independence. The blue banner fluttering over Shymkent symbolizes confidence in Kazakhstan's bright future and the unbreakable unity of its people.

It should be noted that earlier, the "Kyzgaldaq" Saray Palace in Shymkent hosted a solemn event called "Kyran Elіm – Kazaqstanym", dedicated to Republic Day and the 35th anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of State Sovereignty.

During the ceremony, City Mayor Gabit Syzdykbekov congratulated Shymkent residents on the National Day and presented state and industry awards to citizens who made significant contributions to the country's development.

"I wholeheartedly congratulate you on our National Holiday—Republic Day! This is a special day when the foundation of our state was laid and the path of independent Kazakhstan was charted. Today, we also celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Declaration of State Sovereignty. Currently, at the initiative of President Kassym-Jomart Kemelovich Tokayev, the country is undergoing a period of political and economic renewal," the city's mayor noted.

During the event, more than 40 citizens who made significant contributions to the development of the region and the country were recognized with state awards. They were presented with the Order of Parasat, the Order of Reverend, the Order of Enlightenment (3rd Class), and the Medals of the Eren Enbegi Ushin (Eren Enbegi Ushin) and the Order of Shapa Enbek (Shapagat).
