As part of the Republic Day celebrations, the final of the second republican "Respublica Asyq Atu" tournament, the largest competition in the country in one of the oldest national sports - asyk atu, was held at a high level in the city of Shymkent.

This year's tournament brought together 40 of the best athletes from all over the country. This competition, dedicated to the national game, brought together athletes, spectators, and distinguished guests, becoming a true celebration of the national spirit.

Along with the final games, a concert program and master classes in national sports attracted the interest of thousands of city residents and guests.

Olzhas Kuspekov, a deputy of the Majilis of Parliament and president of the Asyk Shooting Federation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, spoke at the opening of the tournament about the importance of national sports.

"Today, through the game of asyk, we are returning to our roots, to the spiritual code and traditions of our people. Asyk atu is the origin of all national sports. Its history dates back centuries and is closely connected with the life of our people. Today's tournament proves that national sport is a national value. We need to develop asyk atu not only as a tradition, but as a modern cultural phenomenon that unites society. After all, national sport is not just a trend, it is the essence, spirit and patriotism of the nation," said Olzhas Kuspekov.

Following a fiercely contested final, Kulybek Garishbek, an athlete from Aktobe region, emerged as the tournament winner and was awarded a car manufactured by a Kazakhstani automobile company.

The second place winner - athlete from Turkestan region Abilkhan Talgar - received a prize of 1 million tenge, while the third place winner, representative of West Kazakhstan region Slamkul Bakdaulet, received 500 thousand tenge.

In addition, a special prize of 300 thousand tenge from the AMANAT party was awarded to Yazdykbay Kerim, an athlete from Pavlodar region.

The semifinals and finals clearly demonstrated the high level of archery masters and the growing interest in this sport among young people.

It is no coincidence that the tournament is held in the third city of the country. At the first republican tournament held last year, athletes from Shymkent showed excellent results and took the main prize. That is why in 2025 Shymkent became the capital of the "Respublica Asyq Atu" tournament.

This is an important event that demonstrates the region's contribution to the development of national sports.

The tournament in Shymkent established the city as a center for the development of the sport of asyk shooting. This competition proved that the national sport plays an important role in uniting generations and regions and preserving cultural heritage.

The "Respublica Asyq Atu" tournament has made a significant contribution to developing the ancient national game with new impetus and transforming it into a modern mass movement.
