Skopje, October 28, 2025 – On October 28-30, the 14th International Forum on Energy for Sustainable Development (IFESD-14) was held in the capital of North Macedonia on the theme «From Goals to Actions: Securing the future with sustainable energy».

The forum was attended by more than 500 representatives of governments, international financial institutions and organizations, scientific and business communities, commercial banks, civil society and experts from 70 countries.

Accepting the invitation of the Minister of Energy, Mining and Mineral Resources of North Macedonia, Sanja Bozhinovska, the Kazakh delegation was represented at the forum by Farkhat Abytov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of JSC «National Geological Survey», Damir Narynbayev, Executive Director for the Development of the Electric power industry «KAZENERGY», Adil Suleymanov, Director for Decarbonization at «KMG International», as well as representatives of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sanzhar Takenov and Dina Kairzhanova. Experts from Kazakhstan participated in discussions at various panel sessions of the forum, talking about the development and potential, challenges and prospects of Kazakhstan's energy system, including renewable energy sources, the oil and gas industry, as well as the use of critically important minerals and the digitalization of the geological sector.

Kazakh Ambassador Satybaldy Burshakov presented the Kazakh delegation at meetings with the leadership of the Ministry of Energy, Mining and Mineral Resources of North Macedonia. During the meetings a substantive exchange of views took place on the development of cooperation in the field of renewable energy, sustainable development and decarbonization of the economy.

The ideas and suggestions of Kazakh experts are taken into account in the joint statement of the forum participants – the Skopje Declaration on the commitment of governments and participating organizations to achieving the goals of a sustainable, secure and inclusive energy future.
