Ahead of the national holiday - Republic Day - a new “Keleshek School” with 1,200 student places was inaugurated in Dostyk village, Baiterek district, West Kazakhstan region. The facility was built under the national project “Schools of the Future”, initiated by the President of Kazakhstan.
The official opening ceremony was attended by Nariman Toregaliyev, the regional governor, who congratulated the residents on the new school.
“President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized that the state of schools directly affects the country’s development. This ‘School of the Future’ reflects our care for the younger generation. We believe it will become a modern center of knowledge and upbringing,” said the governor.
He noted that the new building replaces an old, unsafe school and provides comfortable, high-quality learning conditions for village children.
The old school building, constructed in 1982, was designed for only 540 students and had been deemed unsafe. The new three-story school marks an important milestone in improving the village’s social infrastructure.
The school features three sports halls, a library, a STEM laboratory, an IT classroom, a co-working center, as well as football and basketball fields and running tracks. All classrooms are fully equipped with modern educational technology.
This year, within the framework of the “Schools of the Future” project, five new schools have been commissioned in the West Kazakhstan region, and four more are under construction.
At the opening ceremony, veteran teacher Zhumagyz Khasangalieva expressed her gratitude and shared her thoughts:
“The new school is not just a place of learning - it’s a symbol of our village’s development and our confidence in the future. I sincerely thank the President for his attention to education and to our children,” she said.
