Brussels, November 6, 2025 — Students of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, who are participating in a two-week educational program in Brussels, visited the Embassy of Kazakhstan in the Kingdom of Belgium.
The internship is organized within the framework of cooperation between the Academy of Public Administration and the Brussels Diplomatic Academy at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Brussels Diplomatic Academy, VUB).
During the visit, a meeting took place with the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Belgium, Roman Vassilenko. The head of the diplomatic mission emphasized the importance of such initiatives in training a new generation of public servants equipped with modern tools of diplomacy, negotiation, and digital public administration.
The Ambassador noted that the program is a practical continuation of the agreement signed between the Academy of Public Administration and the Brussels Diplomatic Academy in 2022, and that it contributes to strengthening academic and professional cooperation between Kazakhstan and Belgium in the field of public management training.
The program runs from November 3 to 14, 2025. It brings together 14 master’s students of the Academy of Public Administration representing various government bodies of Kazakhstan. The course includes lectures and practical training sessions by leading experts, as well as visits to key institutions of the European Union — the European External Action Service (EEAS), the European Commission, the European Parliament, and major analytical centers in Brussels.
The curriculum covers a wide range of topics, including international relations, economic diplomacy, crisis communications, digitalization of public administration, and the use of artificial intelligence in the work of government institutions.
The program participants shared their impressions of the internship and discussed with the diplomats of the Embassy the role of public servants in promoting Kazakhstan’s international agenda and developing cooperation with the European Union.
