Geneva, 11 November 2025 - The Permanent Representative of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the World Trade Organization, Ambassador Kairat Torebayev, delivered a keynote speech at the opening of Global Grain Geneva 2025, one of the world’s leading forums for the grain and agribusiness industry.

This year, the forum gathered hundreds of representatives of global agribusiness, traders, investors, and analysts in Geneva to discuss new trends in the production, trade, and logistics of grain and oilseed crops, as well as to explore prospects for international cooperation amid rising global food demand.

In his remarks, the Ambassador Torebayev emphasized that Kazakhstan continues to strengthen its position as a reliable food supplier, combining increased productivity, export diversification, and the adoption of advanced agricultural technologies. He noted that in 2025 Kazakhstan harvested a record 27.1 million tonnes of grain, while the country’s export geography expanded to nearly 50 countries, including new destinations in Europe, Asia, and North Africa.

Kazakhstan’s Permanent Representative also highlighted Kazakhstan’s growing potential in the production and processing of oilseeds, noting that the profitability of sunflower production exceeds 96%, and domestic products are increasingly entering the Chinese and Middle Eastern markets.

“Kazakhstan remains a reliable partner in the global food system, open to cooperation, innovation, and joint investment,” said Ambassador Torebayev.

Kazakhstan’s participation in Global Grain Geneva 2025 marked an important step in advancing national agricultural interests, enhancing the country’s image as an exporter of high-quality and sustainable products, and deepening partnerships with leading global agribusiness companies.
