About the emergency situation at the pressure sewer collector in the territory of the Main Sewage Pumping Station (GKNS) in Kostanay. 

1. The circumstances of the incident

On 11/11/2025, at 19:38, a gust occurred on the territory of the GKNS on the middle line of the pressure sewer collector, as a result of which flooding of the technological site of the pumping station and the adjacent territory was recorded.

2. Impact area

As a result of wastewater discharge outside the GKNS site, the territory of the horticultural society "Energetik", located in the immediate vicinity of the station, was flooded. There is an accumulation of sewage in low-lying areas.

As a result: 10 sites were flooded, 1 family consisting of 7 people (2 adults, 5 children) was evacuated.

3. Measures taken

​•​A valve with a diameter of 600 mm is closed at the first node.

​•​The supply was completely cut off at the middle node.

​•​At the GKNS pumping station, two valves with a diameter of 1000 mm on the main sewer are closed.

​•An emergency discharge has been opened to unload the system and prevent the spread of wastewater.

​•​Pumping by drainage pumps is organized; the water level is constantly monitored.

4. Current status

The main pumping station is operating normally.

​•water flow from the gust site has been eliminated;

​•flooding is localized, pumping to an emergency tank is underway;

​•work to eliminate the consequences continues by the forces of the operational and repair staff of the State Enterprise Kostanay-Su.

The situation is under control. A working group has been set up to determine the consequences of the accident.
