Kazakh Delegation Participated in COP30 Summit on Investments in Green Technologies

Belém, November 13, 2025 — Within the framework of the 30th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP30), held from November 10 to 21, 2025, in Belém, a thematic session titled “Investments in Decarbonization: the Green Technologies Service Operator, the Kazakh Model, and Regional Perspectives” took place. The session focused on attracting investments for carbon emission reduction projects, establishing national service operators in green technologies, and promoting regional cooperation in the field of decarbonization.
The Kazakh delegation was headed by the Director of the Scientific and Educational Center “Green Academy,” Bakhyt Yessekina. Also participating in the session were Dina Zhanadil, Managing Director for Strategy, ESG, and Big Data Analysis at the Development Bank of Kazakhstan, Aidar Yessembayev, Head of the Competence Office for Technology Commercialization at the IGTIC Center, as well as representatives of government agencies and the academic and business communities of Brazil.
During the event, the Kazakh side presented the country’s experience in developing an institutional model aimed at systematically supporting climate-resilient and energy-efficient projects, advancing green financing and ESG investment tools, and ensuring verification and monitoring of results (MRV) in accordance with international standards. Delegation representatives emphasized the potential for expanding partnerships in areas such as joint pilot projects in green energy and energy efficiency, the creation of a regional platform for exchanging experiences and technological solutions, and the engagement of international development institutions to finance cross-border climate initiatives.
The Kazakh model drew the attention of session participants from Central Asia and Latin America, being regarded as an example for potential adaptation within regional decarbonization programs.
Earlier, the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Yerlan Nyssanbayev, took part in the COP30 Leaders’ Summit held on November 6–7 this year in Belém.
