Belém, November 14, 2025 - On the sidelines of the 30th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP30), the Kazakh delegation participated in a thematic session entitled "Formation of a Digital Platform for the Carbon Market in Central Asia". The Kazakh delegation was led by Mansur Oshurbayev, Vice Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Also presenting at this session were Bakhyt Yessekina, Director of the Green Academy Scientific and Educational Center, Kairzhan Kozhayev, Chairman of the Board of JSC NC Kazakhstan Gharysh Sapary, Seitgali Galiev, Head of the Mining Systemology Department at the D.Kunayev Mining Institute, and Gani Nygmetov, Rector of the Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications.

Presenting an initiative to create a unified digital platform for the development of a regional carbon market in Central Asia, members of the Kazakh delegation noted in their speeches that digitalization of climate regulation and the introduction of innovative tools for carbon accounting will enable countries in the region to improve the effectiveness of the Paris Agreement and create new opportunities for attracting green investments. They also emphasized that the creation of a regional digital carbon market platform will be an important step toward the development of a unified climate space for Central Asia, strengthen the region's position on the global climate agenda, and contribute to achieving national carbon neutrality goals by 2060.

The event participants noted the significance of Kazakhstan's initiative and expressed their readiness to deepen cooperation, taking into account global climate goals and sustainable development principles.

Earlier, Yerlan Nyssanbayev, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, participated in the COP30 Leaders' Summit on November 6-7 in Belem.
