Kassym-Jomart Tokayev asked the newly created Working Group to carefully study all aspects and make recommendations on establishing mutually beneficial cooperation.

The Head of State also emphasized the strategic nature of expanding integration in the transport and transit sector. In particular, measures have been taken to optimize tariffs, reduce administrative barriers, develop border infrastructure, and modernize checkpoints.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev believes that the governments of both countries need to create favorable conditions for all participants in the logistics chain and solve infrastructure, regulatory, and institutional challenges.

In addition, the Head of State noted that it is urgent to continue effective cooperation in the development of the Trans-Caspian international transport route, the North-South corridor, as well as the railway route through Afghanistan.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev called on the Uzbek side to establish a partnership and implement logistics projects at the ports of Aktau and Kuryk in order to jointly develop the Trans-Caspian international transport route.

The President of Kazakhstan noted that constructive cooperation in the water and energy sectors is of great importance, since the rational use of water resources of transboundary rivers is one of the main factors contributing to the sustainable progress of both countries.

On this occasion, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev proposed that the governments of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan develop systematic measures to coordinate approaches to water management policy.
