Today, Yerkebulan Kanafin, a judoka from Temirtau, became the champion of the XXV Summer Deaflympic Games in Tokyo.

He performed among athletes with hearing loss in the 81 kg weight category.

Our countryman has already won several world-class victories. In May 2022, Kanafin won a gold medal at the XXIV Summer Deaflympics in Caxias do Sul, Brazil. 2023 - first place at the Asia-Pacific Championships in Bishkek. 2024 – World Cup in Turkestan (Kazakhstan) – third place in the individual competition, first in the team competition.

And here is a new victory at the highest level! In the final, our judoka defeated Hungarian Patrick Otvosh. Sergey Evgenievich Dmitrenko trains the athlete. Congratulations to the champion and his mentor!
