Madrid, November 17, 2025 – At one of Spain’s leading universities, CEU San Pablo University, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan, Danat Mussayev, delivered a guest lecture to the Faculty of Humanities and Public Relations.

During his address, the Ambassador reviewed the key milestones in Kazakhstan’s journey to independence, marking the 35th anniversary of the Declaration on State Sovereignty and underscoring the foundational role that document played in establishing statehood. He also highlighted the 30th anniversary of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which laid down the principles of the country’s democratic development, as well as the steady progress of political reforms implemented under President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

Danat Mussayev also conveyed to the audience the priorities of Kazakhstan’s current foreign policy as a “middle power,” emphasizing the promotion of peace and international security, including the importance of nuclear disarmament. Kazakh diplomat emphasized the country’s peace-building initiatives and the continued stability of its multi-vector foreign policy approach since the early years of independence.

Special attention was given to the preservation of cultural identity, inter-ethnic harmony and the values of peaceful coexistence. In this context, significant anniversaries were noted: the 180th anniversary of Abai Kunanbaiuly, the 100th anniversary of composer Nurgissa Tlendiyev and the 125th anniversary of composer Issa Baizakov, whose artistic legacies continue to shape Kazakhstan’s spiritual profile.

In closing, the Ambassador answered questions from the audience, who expressed interest in Kazakhstan’s current domestic agenda as well as in the contemporary state and dynamics of Kazakh-Spanish relations.
