An Open Day was held at the 5573rd Brigade of the National Guard of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the capital, becoming a memorable event for high school students and representatives of the District Defense Affairs Department of the Saryarka district.

The event was organized on the instruction of the Commander-in-Chief of the National Guard, Major General Ansagan Baltabayev.

The main goal of the Open Day was to introduce young people to the daily life of the troops of law and order, demonstrate the nature of military service, and broaden their understanding of the opportunities that the uniform with the National Guard insignia provides.

Guests had the chance to see the weapons and military equipment used by servicemembers in their daily operational and combat activities. A special highlight of the program was the demonstration by the canine unit. Service dogs showcased their skills in apprehension, search, and obedience work, demonstrating the high level of training of their handlers.

Students toured the barracks to see the living conditions and service environment of the guardsmen. One of the key segments of the program was a visit to the Central Museum of the National Guard. There, participants learned about the history of the formation of the troops, the development of units, and the key stages in the establishment of the modern National Guard.

On the territory of the unit, the young visitors were also shown the sports complex and elements of physical training that conscripted servicemembers undergo daily. The students were able to view samples of weaponry, take photos with the guardsmen, and ask questions.

The final part of the event took place in the cultural and leisure center of the unit. Guests were shown video materials about admission to the National Guard Academy, introducing future applicants to educational programs, training conditions, and career prospects. The program concluded with a short concert performed by the unit’s creative ensemble.

The Open Day allowed high school students to see the army without filters — real, modern, and professional. Many of them admitted that the visit made them seriously consider serving in the National Guard and applying to the Academy.
