Today, the festival "National Clothing - a Heritage for Generations" was held in Shymkent as part of the 30th anniversary of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan. The event, which glorified national clothing, was attended by local craftsmen, young designers, representatives of fashion and fans of national art, leaders of ethnocultural associations, creative teams, students of higher and secondary specialized educational institutions, and residents.

The goal of the festival, which has been traditionally held at the city assembly square since 2022, is to present modern national clothing models to the public by expanding the scope of application of the national clothing of our people and promoting the products of local craftsmen and entrepreneurs, jewelers and designers, and increasing respect and interest in national clothing and jewelry.

Aigul Amzeyeva, head of the Secretariat of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan in Shymkent, who participated in the opening ceremony of the festival, which celebrated national clothing models in a modern style, expressed special gratitude to the craftsmen, entrepreneurs, and designers who develop national clothing and jewelry and promote them to today's generation.

– National clothing is not just a decorative element, but a sacred value that preserves the spirit, identity, and historical memory of the nation. Through today's festival, we are not only showing the younger generation our roots, but also paving the way for young talents who will take the art of national clothing to a new level. The history, philosophy, and worldview of our people are hidden in the clothing of each region. We are obliged to preserve this rich heritage and pass it on to future generations. The City Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan will implement various projects in the future that will unite society. Our goal is to strengthen our blessed unity, maintain social harmony, and maintain the fundamental peace between ethnic groups, said the head of the secretariat.

During the festival, fashion collections of designers and craftsmen were presented to the public, and the audience got to know and learn more about the regional features of traditional Kazakh clothing, national patterns, and advanced techniques of craftsmen. A jury of professional specialists identified the best works and projects from among the works and projects presented to the public.

By the decision of the jury, ethnic-style clothing collections were awarded special awards and valuable prizes.

According to the results of the festival, the first place was awarded to the collection of national costumes "Amanat Ruhy" from the South Kazakhstan Pedagogical University named after O. Zhanibekov (led by A.B. Shnasyl) and the collection of national costumes "Shugyla" from the Interethnic Cultural Center "Yntymak" (authored by B. Zhetybayeva).
The 2nd place went to the "Mountain Eagles" clothing collection of the College of Light Industry and Service (led by S.M. Iskakova) and the "Transformation of National Clothing" collection of decorative clothing models of the Central Asian Innovation University (led by B.A. Dosanova), the 3rd place went to the "Silk Road" clothing collection of the College of Light Industry and Service (led by M.K. Baizakova) and the "Nurly Shuak" clothing collection of the A. Kasteev College of Art and Design (led by Zh.A. Akaeva, D.A. Beisenbayeva).

Craftsmen and entrepreneurs who actively participated in the event, which aimed to promote national costumes, were awarded incentive prizes.

It is worth noting that, as part of the festival, a concert program was presented to the audience, which included various genres of national art, in addition to modern national costumes.
